Holiday Wind Down

So I haven't posted for about a week and a half, I blame the holiday sales season. I've been working and sleeping and not much else. I feel that I should maybe explain the content of the last post. It's the beginning, simply that, nothing more and nothing less. I (hopefully) plan to make it the first of many more prose style posts that I will form into something larger down the road. I would really appreciate any feedback about it (positive and negative.)

I've been trying to relax for the last hour or so that I'm at work since after I leave I'll be behind the wheel for two hours driving my girlfriend to Sebring to see her family. Also be on the lookout for fat bearded men in red suits tonight, they are NOT to be trusted.
Happy holidays everyone and all hail cthulu.

"The City"

The City awoke. As the sun rose over the horizon, the sound of metal and gears began to fill the air. The dull hum of the sodium lights slowly quieting as the towers of steel and iron emerged from the ground and began their ascent towards the sky. The roads grew out of barren earth, covering it with their cold, rough, skin. As the towers creaked and screeched, signaling that they were happy with their height, the traffic lights began to string themselves from lamppost to lamppost crisscrossing the roads below. The chains and gates peeled themselves back to reveal shops and lobbies, restaurants and bars, along with the occasional theater. In the windows, signs turned and illuminated inviting all that passed to "come in" and that they were "open." Then all the others sounds became unimportant, the rumble of The Cars began to flood the streets and avenues, replacing the city's sounds with their own. The humming gave way to honking and the creaking was replaced with sirens, the screeching remained but instead of the sound of metal scraping metal, it was now the sound of rubber on asphalt. And when at the end of the day as The Cars disappeared and the buildings crawled back into the earth The City found itself satisfied. It's work was done, it was time for it to rest, for tomorrow The City would awaken again.

Tired and annoyed by stupid commercials

I know that I had planned to explain the whys of this blog but I've found that that will have to wait. I the meantime, a rant:
I have found that I really hate the "Finally Fast!" commercials. Not only do they take advantage of the most computer illiterate computer owners but it also misrepresents itself my having half of the computers shown be Macs. Then at the end of the commercial it says that the program is not Mac compatible, its just plain dumb.

Good News Everyone!

The semester is over and now I can direct more attention to the things that really matter, namely lots of books and a ubiquitous amount of movie watching. But first I have business to take care of, namely letting anyone reading this know "Who the hell is this person and why should I care?"

Well I'll tell you who the hell I am!
My name is Paul and if you're reading this then odds are pretty good you already knew that. I live in central Florida and am in my early twenties. I have two younger brothers, Eric and Scott, and we all live with my mother June and dog Molly. I'm not getting any more specific than that because I want to respect their privacy (evil is afoot). My mom owns the store I work at and have been practically living at for the last 6 1/2 years. I'm also in school, making my way through the drudges of a computer science degree one semester at a one time. I absolutely love to read and all my friends say that I am an encyclopedia of useless knowledge, which is great for trivia nights at Applebee's (I miss those nights.) Let's see what else, OH I remember! I also have a wonderful girlfriend named Melissa. You can see her in the picture in the previous post. I have ADD and as you can see by the lack of organization in this post my thoughts go in a million different directions. Oh look a bunny! I think that about sums up the "who" I am, in the next post I will try to give an idea of what this blog will be about.

First Entry!!!!

Well, here we are. I said I was going to start a blog at some point another and I guess the end of this semester is as good a time as any. Over the next few posts I will be introducing myself and just the whys and wherefores of my bringing this blog into existence, so stay tuned, we've only just begun. For now here's a picture of me with my lovely girlfriend Melissa:
